18 To 34-Year-Olds Keen To Buy Property

Many 18 to 34-year-olds are keen to climb the property ladder.

Many young men in the UK are keen to enter the property market sooner rather than later, new research has suggested.

According to the Post Office Mortgages poll, 36 per cent of 18 to 34-year-old males are hopeful of buying a house in there near future – slightly higher than the 32 per cent of similar aged women who said the same.

It was found that while 28 per cent of young guys aim to buy a dwelling because it will result in greater independence, 41 per cent of ladies want to purchase an abode because they view mortgage payments as a better use of money than renting costs.

Mike Cook, head of mortgages at the Post Office, noted: “All first-time buyers need to make sure they don`t compromise on getting the right mortgage to help them get on the property ladder.”

Mr Cook also advised would-be homebuyers to save up for a ten per cent deposit prior to making a move in the market.
